II Kings 19:27 “But I know your sitting down and your going out and coming in, and your raging against me.”
Wow! Do you ever remember when you were younger someone said to you “I know where you live”, and it was meant to create a sense of fear or to shut you up?
I feel like that’s what God is saying to Sennacherib, “hey mate! – I know where you live, and if I get any more problems with you I’ll come round there and sort you out!” Except, this is not another chance for Sennacherib, this is the final curtain call. His destiny is about to be sealed as God speaks over his life.
There is nothing that Sennacherib has said or done that is unknown by God, and Sennacherib is about to be called to account. He has no idea – he is still prancing around outside, uttering his threats and promises, thinking himself unbeatable. He has no idea yet of the power of God’s words.
How good is it to know that God’s word to us is “yes and amen”, for the thousands of promises in his Word towards us, each one is sealed by God speaking over us his love, and his yes and let it be so.
I think today I will spend time sitting in a few of God’s promises for me and allowing them to wash my soul, cleanse my thoughts, and strengthen my purpose.
