There’s a moment I see often in coaching sessions—a quiet pause when someone realises they’ve been working hard but not always working true. I know that moment well. It’s the reason I bring Working Genius and Professional Supervision together. They’re two tools that create clarity, confidence, and a sense of calling that’s hard to find on our own.

Working Genius helps us uncover how we’re naturally wired to contribute. It names the energies that lift us and the ones that drain us. When people discover their geniuses, competencies, and frustrations, something loosens in them—permission, maybe, to stop pretending.

Aristotle’s old line rings still true today –  “Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom.”

Professional Supervision takes that insight and gives it a place to grow. It’s the quiet room where you can think aloud, untangle pressures, and find courage for the next step. Not judgement. Not critiquing performance. But a steady, reflective companionship that keeps you aligned with your purpose.

Shakespeare captured it well “To thine own self be true.”

When I bring these two together, something powerful happens. Working Genius reveals your design; supervision helps you live it with intention.

Proverbs 20:5 comes to mind often: “The purposes of a person’s heart are deep waters, but one who has insight draws them out.”

That’s the work we do together – drawing out what’s been buried under expectations, fear, or simply the busyness of life.

And if you’re standing at that crossroads in your career—wondering where to go next, how to grow, or how to feel aligned again—this combination can be a turning point. It clarifies your strengths, steadies your decisions, and gives you a framework to build something meaningful and sustainable.

As Colossians 3:23 says, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart.”

When you understand how you’re built—and give yourself space to reflect—you can work with your whole heart, not just your whole effort.

Blessings
