Connections

Psalm 40:9 [ESV] I have told the glad news of deliverance in the great congregation; behold, I have not restrained my lips, as you know O Lord.

Deut 6:7 [ESV] You shall teach them diligently to your children and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.

κρίματα [krimata] – judgments

κρίμα [Kiima] – a judgment, verdict, lawsuit. This word appears 28 times in the New Testament. One great example is in John 9:39 [ESV] “Jesus said ‘For judgment (κρίμα) I came into this world, that those who do not see may see, and those who see may become blind.'”

The question this begs of me is “What are my own blindspots?” – do I have people in my life who will faithfully help me to grow in these areas, who will gently point out my areas for change and growth, and will I have a heart that is open to hear these things and to respond with humility and an openness to change. Are there areas that I have become hard in that need to soften – how will I know if no-one tells me? I need to choose my friends with great wisdom and care.

Reflections

Blind spot - All About Vision

These days, when I am driving my car, alarms go off when another car is in my blind spot, either to my left or right, and usually, a red or orange light appears in my wing mirror. It feels so safe now to have this warning. I remember years ago on my motorbike, I was always taught to “look back,” and not just trust your mirrors. Life is full of unexpected moments when things creep up on us expectedly and unexpectedly. How good I am at navigating these moments may well depend on how well my internal warning system is working, and that can depend on my day-to-day activities to keep my relationship with God Jesus and the Holy Spirit fresh and alive in my own heart. Will I listen for and too that still small voice, and will I respond?

Strength Coaches comment – The talent of Deliberative takes serious care to make the best decisions and take the best actions. Deliberative can see blind spots and can navigate obstacles others don’t even know exist.
