Good morning how are you going today?
If you remember last week we left the story when the enemy was at the gates of Jerusalem and Hezekiah had sent out his trusted servants to hear the demands.
19 And the Rabshakeh said to them, “Say to Hezekiah, ‘Thus says the great king, the king of Assyria: On what do you rest this trust of yours?
The enemy looks at the seen, the visible, and the tangible. They consider their own visible strength and power as the defining information. The enemy comes with a visible show of force.
But Hezekiah has a seed of faith.
In the city of Jerusalem, the King, Hezekiah is engaged in discussions with Isaiah, and his little group of faithful servants are on the field of battle, facing the enemy to hear their demands.
The word of God is being sought, and it will come and it will define the outcome.
The enemy, your enemy today has not changed tactics since the beginning of time really. Remember in the garden? Did” God really say?” He brings a seed of doubt – and here he is again, the enemy of God’s people, bringing his seed of doubt – “on what do you rest this trust of yours?”
But Hezekiah has a seed of faith.
A massive visible, tangible army surround Jerusalem. Their power and might are evident to all. All logic, all reason, and all experience declare’s that Hezekiah, the people and Jerusalem are undone here. There is no way they can survive surely – when so many fortress cities before them have fallen to this vast army. These are the facts.
But Hezekiah has a seed of faith.
Principle 23 – we can recognise the enemy’s tactics.
