II Kings 19:29 – “And this shall be the sign for you: this year eat what grows itself, and in the second year what springs of the same. Then in the third year sow and reap and plant vineyards and eat their fruit”.
The promises of God are being freshly planted, freshly established here as God speaks to Hezekiah of a future that would have been hard for him to imagine when hundreds of thousands of the enemy’s finest warriors were camped all around his city.
God’s word, spoken over your life has the power to change the seasons, derail the enemy, bring unexpected provision, and sow seeds of hope in the face of adversity.
What enemy is trying to wrap itself around you, what thoughts continually assail your mind, and what threats have been uttered against you? God’s word spoken has the power to defeat the enemy every time.
Hezekiah has removed all idolatry and thrown open the temple gates to reinstate prayer and worship of Yahweh, and now God’s word comes in power to establish in the unseen what will soon be seen.
What a great pattern for me! Return wholeheartedly to God repenting of any idols including myself, throw myself wholly into worship and prayer, and listen as god’s promises are spoken over my life.
Principle of Change 70 – repent, return, receive,
Strength – Restorative – bringing things back to the original maker’s position.
