II Kings 19:7 Behold, I will put a spirit in him, so that he shall hear a rumour and return to his own land, and I will make him fall by the sword in his own land.
In Matt 26:52 it is written “Then Jesus said to him “Put your sword back into its place. For all who take the sword will perish by the sword”.
In Job 4:8 we are told, “As I have seen, those who plough iniquity and sow trouble reap the same”.
God works in mysterious ways and yet his principles are free for all to see.
God is doing something inside the enemy of Hezekiah, causing him to start to listen to rumours, and be susceptible to them. His confidence is shaken, he makes a poor tactical decision for the first time in years of warfare, and it is the beginning of the end for him.
God is well able to turn around your situation, he is well able to do something to move the impossible mountains in your life.
For Hezekiah the journey was to rid his life of everything that was an impediment to his relationship with God, to enter back in to praise and prayer to God in community, to humble himself before God and repent of his own sin, and to trust in God’s name to be powerful enough to win the battle against impossible odds.
Where are you on this journey, what is your next step?
Let’s pray together?
Dear heavenly father, I choose right now to get rid of everything in my life that is a barrier between you and I. I choose right now to get back into Christian community and to spend time in praise and prayer with you each day. I choose right now to humble myself before you God, and to acknowledge my sin, and to repent of my sin. I ask that you would cleanse me of all my iniquity.
Now father, I have faith in you to move the seemingly impossible challenges before me – I trust you today to make a way where there seems to be no way. Thank you father, thank you Jesus, thank you Holy Spirit.
