Connections
Psalm 25:7 [ESV] Remember not the sins of my youth or my transgressions; according to your steadfast love remember me, for the sake of your goodness, O Lord!
φυλάξασθαι [phulaxasthai] – keeping
φυλάσσω [phulasso] appears in various forms thirty-one times in the New Testament – translated into English variously as “kept, guards, observes and maintained”. One scripture from the New Testament that really resonates with Pslam 119:9 is 1Timothy 6:20 where Timothy as a young man in the faith has Paul tell him” O Timothy, guard (φύλαξον) the deposit entrusted to you. Avoid the irreverent babble and contradictions of what is falsely called knowledge.”
Reflections
It’s not something to take lightly, whether a young or an older person. There are daily opportunities not to guard our hearts, not to do things God’s way, and to live with the consequences, and sometimes even the regrets of those decisions. There is, however, something amazing and strong and good about choosing to stay, to dwell, in the place of yielding to God, where his ways have the preeminence. the beautiful thing is, it’s our choice every day.
Strength Coaches comment – The talent of Consistency has an inbuilt awareness of the value of all people and there is a desire to see all people treated equally and fairly.
