μεμαθηκέναι – [memathekenai] – only used one time in the OT and not used in this form in the NT.  – “Learning”

μαθήσονται – [mathesontai] Deut 31:13 “and learn” (to fear) – Isa 29:24 “accept instruction” – Isa 32:4 “good judgement”.

There is a position that all of us should adopt: acknowledging our need to learn God’s ways. This is a transformational space where God’s word starts to work in our hearts and minds with power and authority. No longer are we readers only; now, we are consumers, hungry for truth and putting that truth to the test each day in our actions.

There is something so healthy and healing about leaning into God’s ways. To take our time to do things well, and to be willing to receive feedback when for whatever reason we don’t quite do things as well as perhaps we could. It seems so simple when we talk about it or even write about it, yet our flesh, our sinful nature makes sure that it’s not quite as simple as we would like it to be. There is a tension between our carnal nature and our spiritual aspirations – and as we learn to live in that tension we start to become truly spiritual. It’s never about denying the facts, it is about accepting the facts, and knowing that God is still not limited by these.
