Deut 27:26 [ESV] “Cursed be anyone who does not confirm the words of this law by doing them.” And all the people shall say Amen.

Psalm 119:10 [ESV] With my whole heart I seek you; let me not wander from your commandments.

There is a continual intentionality required to follow God, it needs to be driven from the inside, not can never achieve its purpose if its out on like a cloak. There is a way of life that is expected, to be above reproach, and wherever possible to be seen to be above reproach. This way of life is only sustainable through a change of heart, authored by God. So, in essence, we are asking God to give us what we need to do what God has asked us to do.

Reflections

Pronunciation of Presumptuous | Definition of Presumptuous - YouTube

There is an old saying that goes “when we assume something it makes an ass of u and me” – I guess when we pre-assume something then we go one step further. I remember when we were newly married and there was two bits of cake left at the table, one larger than the other, The kids had all eaten and left the table. I reached out in front of Wendy and took the larger slice of cake and started to eat it. Wendy looked a little disappointed and said, “hey – I would never have done that to you!”. So I asked Wendy, “what would you have done?”. And the answer came “I’d have taken the smaller slice!” Quick as a flash I replied “well you got the smaller slice, so what’s the problem?” Wow – I presumed there would be no consequences for that!

Strength Coaches comment – The talent of Command is at ease taking control of situations and make decisions, especially under pressure. It’s good to take time to consider how any decisions will impact others as well.
