II Kings 18:28 “Then the Rabshakeh stood and called out in a loud voice in the language of Judah: “Hear the word of the great king, the king of Assyria!

What a great picture we have here. The Rabshakeh (chief officer) of the Assyrian army is outside the gates of Jerusalem. The walls would have been crowded with hundreds if not thousands of people, wondering about their fate, their future, and their faith.

He wants everyone to hear, and he wants everyone to know whom he serves. He calls his master the great king – in other words, he is talking about his status and his extensive authority. His plan is to win the battle before there even is a battle. To sow seeds of doubt and discord among the people of Jerusalem and to unsettle Hezekiah from outside the city and inside the city.

What does this mean for you and me though? Do we have voices in our lives that tell us what all the problems are, that there are just too many problems to overcome and that we should just go with the flow? Or even that they have the answer we need. This voice could even be dressed up in authority (just like The Rabshakeh).

Who do you give authority to speak into your life today – who do you listen to. What voices have your complete attention?

Can I ask you a couple of questions?

It maybe sounds a bit super-spiritual, but does the voice of The Holy Spirit have space in your day to really commune with you?

How do you intentionally surround yourself with good people who speak life into you?

Principle 32 – who you allow talking into your life can impact your destiny.

Strength – Responsibility – you take your commitments seriously and love great collaboration. It’s a great idea to make healthy relationships part of your commitments.

Blessings
