Relational Influence – Gallup Strengths
Knowing my Gallup Strengths is like having a personalized cheat sheet to my superpowers. These strengths are my natural talents and abilities, the things I do effortlessly and exceptionally well. By identifying these strengths, I can focus on what I am naturally good at, making my work and personal life more fulfilling and productive.
Imagine if you had the confidence of a superhero who knows exactly which powers to use in any situation—whether you’re leading a team, solving problems, or building relationships, you’ll have a toolkit tailored just for you.
Each of our Gallup Strengths falls into one of four Domains: Executing, Influencing, Relationship Building, and Strategic Thinking. Understanding these domains helps us see how our strengths work together and how they contribute to our team. It’s like putting together a puzzle where each piece enhances the picture. For example, if we excel in the relationship-building domain, we might naturally bring people together and create harmony. Knowing this, we can position ourselves in roles that leverage these talents, making us not only more effective but also happier and more engaged in our work.
Now, let’s talk about strengths in their raw and mature forms. Raw strengths are like unpolished gems—they have potential but need some refining. For instance, raw Communication strength might mean we talk a lot but aren’t always clear. As it matures, we become a masterful storyteller who can engage and inspire others. Similarly, raw Strategic Thinking might lead us to overanalyze situations, but when mature, it helps us to see patterns and opportunities that others miss. Recognizing where our strengths are on this journey allows us to develop them consciously, turning raw talents into refined skills that are effective and have an impact, on every aspect of our lives.
Gallup tells us that with our Strengths there is a journey of “name it, claim it, aim it”. And as a coach, that’s what I help you do.
